A fitness program should be fun, and something that you want to do long term.</p>

<p>When starting a fitness program people can often get discouraged as they have generally not been exercising for some time. The first few workouts can be very difficult until your body gets used to exercising again. Having a friend by your side can make it fun and you can both encourage each other. People who exercise long term usually do as they make it social and fun.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 2. Choose a sport or activity you enjoy</strong></p>
<p>If you don’t like running, then don’t run. Choose something that you like doing. I have clients that like rock climbing, however he doesn’t have time to get out and climb very often. I took him to a indoor rock climbing centre and now he goes once a week as part if his routine. It gives him one strength session. The other two we made a home workout which consists of an 45 min walk with his wife and then push ups, sit ups, back dishes, lunges, squats and some light stretching. It doesn’t cost much money as he is on a tight budget and it is something that will be maintained long term.</p>

<p>I’ve just come across a fantastic diet. It’s the anti-fad, anti-cliché, anti-gimmick diet. (Of course, I found it advertised online, so I’m sure it’s not totally lacking in those things…) But anyways, it’s called The Lose Weight Diet. This diet is as straightforward as the name suggests—easy, logical, and you don’t need to sign up or pay anything.</p>
<p>It gets better. How do you lose weight on The Lose Weight Diet? You cut your calories. Tah-dah! Plain and simple.</p>
<p>This guy talks about your calorie maintenance level—that’s the number of calories you eat on a daily basis without causing any weight loss or weight gain—and about how if you reduce your calorie intake to add up to LESS THAN your calorie maintenance level, how you’ll lose weight. (The flipside is also true: Increase that number to beyond your CML and you’ll gain weight—but we don’t need an article about how to gain weight do we?</p>
<p>Let’s say your CML is 3,000 calories. If for one week (7 days) you reduce that number to 2,500 calories/day, then by the end of the week you’ll have lost one pound! (Math: 500 less per day X 7 days = 3,500 calories lost in 7 days. 3,500 calories equals one pound.) It should go without saying that those calories that you do eat should be balanced and healthy, and you should cut out the junk.</p>
<p>So that’s how you can easily lose a pound a week by reducing your calorie intake. But there’s another way you can lose weight—exercise. Don’t change anything in your eating habits and BURN 500 cals a day and you’ll lose that same one pound a week.</p>
<p>Losing one pound a week is a safe and healthy rate for sustainable weight loss.</p>
<p>So how do you put words into action? Count your calories for a week or so to get an estimate of what you’re CML is. And then subtract 500 and see what happens!</p>

A safe diet should include all daily recommended allowances of vitamins and minerals, as well as protein and fiber. <p>Get enough calories- It is very important to not cut your calories too low. Therefore, to lose one pound on a slim fast diet plan, you must somehow expel 3500 calories from your body, either by diet or by physical activity, or a combination of both. By making small changes in your daily routine, you can easily cut 250-500 calories out of your diet without even noticing that they are even missing. Here are a few ideas of easy ways to cut calories from your diet each day:</p>
<p>* Cutting just one can of soda per day equals 150 calories saved. If you drink a lot of soda, this can mean huge calorie savings throughout a day!<br />
* Drinking regular coffee with low-cal sweetener instead of a late saves up to 400 calories.<br />
* Eat meals on a salad plate. You will automatically eat about 15% less than eating on a larger plate.<br />
* Eat Fruit instead of chocolate. The average candy bar has around 150 calories. Substitute a piece of fruit to satisfy that sweet tooth and save 100 calories.</p>
<p>Add a little more activity to your slim fast diet plan and your calories burned can really add up, too. You do not have to work out for hours per day at a gym to see results. By making simple changes in your daily routine can add up at the end of the week:</p>

* Take the stairs for just 15 minutes per day instead of the elevator and calories will melt away!</p>

The Mediterranean diet plan is said to not only be an excellent way to lose weight, but it is supposed to do a great job at drastically reducing your risk of heart disease and some cancers.</p>
<p>Traditional Mediterranean diet plans are chock full of whole grain pastas, brown and wild rice, and other whole grains, including whole grain breads. As many fruits and veggies as possible should also be eaten each day. If meat is eaten, people on the Mediterranean diet mostly eat fish. Very rarely is red meat consumed on this plan. Nuts are also enjoyed in small quantities with this diet, as nuts are high in good fats and can produce added protein. A small amount of olive or canola oil can also be enjoyed on the Mediterranean diet plan.</p>
<p>The main components of the Mediterranean diet plan are:</p>
<p>* Eating little or no red meat<br />
* Consuming fish at least two or three times per week<br />
* Eating small amounts of nuts each day<br />
* Eating mostly fruits and vegetables every day<br />
* Only eat health fats such as olive oil<br />
* Avoid using salt. Instead flavor your foods using spices and herbs<br />
* Exercise at least 30 minutes per day</p>
<p>The plan puts a lot of emphasis on eating healthy fats. That is why fish is the main meat in this diet. Fish are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which lower triglycerides, which improve the function of the blood vessels in our bodies. Nuts are also laden with omega-3s, and are encouraged on this diet as well. Just make sure that you are not eating nuts with lots of salt or sprinkled with sugars.</p>
<p>Wine is also allowed on this diet, in moderation, because studies have shown that consuming small amounts of wine on a regular basis may contribute to a reduced risk of heart disease. Typically, no more than 8 ounces of whine should be consumed on a daily basis.</p>
<p>If following the Mediterranean diet plan, you will want to avoid harmful fats such as hydrogenated oils and saturated fats as these are major contributors of heart disease. Red meat is also heavily associated with heart disease and should be cut completely out of the diet or should be limited to very small amounts per week.</p>
<p>Living a lifestyle by following the plan is very healthy and enjoyable. By choosing plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, limiting your red meat consumption, eating plenty of fish and small amounts of healthy fats and wine, you can not only lose weight, you can reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer.</p></div>

Many times however, our schedules are so hectic that it is hard to fit in the recommended full hour every day for exercise. So are there easy exercises to lose weight that do not take an hour to do every day, yet provide real results? Yes, there are exercises out there that are easy to do, and do not take a lot of time and really work!</p>
<p>There are basically two types of exercises, strength training and aerobic exercise. All exercises fall within the range of one of these types and each type of exercise works differently with the body to contribute to overall weight loss and toning. Aerobic exercises burn fat and calories while strength training tones the body while increasing the speed of your resting metabolic rate. It is important to fit both types of exercises into your work out routines for optimal weight loss.</p>
<p>Exercises to lose weight quickly contain both aspects of exercises in one. Exercises such as step aerobics are great way to increase your heart beat (aerobic activity) while toning your body. Step aerobics target trouble areas such as legs hips and thighs and can burn up to 800 calories in an hour. This means that even if you do as little as one twenty minute session per day, every other day, and you can burn over 1000 calories per week all while gaining muscle.</p>
<p>Walking is another excellent way to burn calories while toning your lower body. Walking can burn up to 500 calories per hour (depending on how fast you are going) and tones the calves, hips and buttocks muscles. Add a deliberate arm movement while walking and you can also help to tone your upper body.</p>
<p>If you can not find ways of exercising in traditional ways because you are stuck in an office all day, doing office exercises to lose weight can help as well. Take a five or ten minute break a couple of times per day and climb up and down office steps non-stop. You will increase your heart rate while adding muscle tone to your lower body. Or, try standing in front of a chair without wheels and place your arms behind you grabbing on to the arms of the chair. &#8220;Dip&#8221; your body downward until you are almost setting in the chair and use your body weight to push yourself back up. This is a great way of toning your upper body while in your cubical or office.</p>
<p>There are plenty of ways to find exercises to lose weight that do not create a hassle in your every day life. If you constantly strive to find new ways to fit even small amounts of exercise into your routine, you will almost definitely see results within just a few short weeks. Not only will you start to look better, you will find that you have more energy and you will feel healthier too!</p></div>

While simple carbohydrates such as sugar and white flour can spike the body&#8217;s blood sugar levels and leave the dieter feeling lethargic, complex carbohydrates give our bodies its energy. Consuming whole grains is an excellent way to consume carbohydrates that benefit our bodies.</p>

These diets are big business in America. Why are these diets such a huge influence over our lives? Well, statistics are showing that almost 60% of Americans are now in the over weight to obese spectrum. People are desperate to lose the extra weight and these lose weight fast diets promise quick weight loss.</p>
<p>Some of these diets promote unsafe eating habits, which do nothing but set the dieter up for failure. But some of the popular lose weight fast diets are based on sound diet advice and can actually be a healthy and fast way to lose weight. As long as the main principles behind the diet are healthy eating habits and they promote exercise along with better eating habits, the diet will work for most. Remember that cutting out whole food groups or cutting calories to dangerous levels will only force your body into starvation mode, causing more harm than good to your metabolism and health in general.</p>
<p>The types of diets that you should be looking for when considering lose weight fast diets, are diets that promote healthy eating. If the diet does not sound safe, it probably isn&#8217;t. You probably already know that yo-yo dieting can ruin your health and actually stall weight loss. Make sure that the diet you are looking to try includes healthy food choices, adequate calories per day, and plenty of fruits and vegetables to make sure your body is getting all of the vitamins, minerals and fiber that it needs to function properly.</p>
<p>Diets that promote at least 1,000 calories or more per day for women and 1,600 per day for men should be avoided at all costs. These diets (dubbed fad diets) can cause more harm to your body than good and will stall your metabolism causing your weight loss efforts to fail.</p>
<p>It is important to remember also that exercise is a very important part of any weight loss program. Exercise is just as important as calorie restriction when you are trying to lose weight. This is why it is imperative when you are looking at lose weight fast diets to try, that the diet incorporates at least 20 minutes of exercise in addition to a healthy meal plan. Exercising does not have to consume your entire day, every day. There are simple ways to fit in your daily exercise and a diet that promotes this fact is sure to be a sound diet that is worth trying.</p>
<p>Whatever diet you decide to choose, remember that your health is always at stake. A diet that could potentially cause your health to fail in the future is not a diet worth trying. However, a diet program that promotes a healthy lifestyle and long term diet changes can literally be a life saver. No matter what diet plan you decide to try, remember that only you can change your life.</p></div>
