Chlorophyll / Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants, algae and cyanobacteria found. Plays a key role in the process of photosynthesis, the energy absorbed from the sun and used to carbon dioxide and water into carbohydrates and oxygen in plants, to transform. admin Choosing the Right Exercise for Weight Loss and Health
January 3rd, 2011
admin People choose many different types of exercise programs, depending on the goal they intend to accomplish. Some choose cardio aerobic activities such as walking and running in an effort to lose weight, while others gravitate toward resistance forms of exercise to build muscle and improve health. It’s important to combine the proper intensity with an appropriate fitness routine to achieve the proper end result that’s right for you.
Choosing Your Fitness Goal
Physical activity guidelines have been established by the US Department of Health and Human Services which are helpful in determining the proper exercise routine to follow, depending on your fitness level and ultimate goal. Individuals trying to lose weight and body fat will want to hit the treadmill with a moderate intensity level for at least 60 minutes on most days of the week.
Many people understand that it’s important to choose some type of exercise to improve health and retain muscle mass, while strengthening the most important muscle in the body, the heart. Here you’ll want to concentrate more on short burst, high intensity resistance exercises with 10 to 20 reps working all major muscle groups. At least 20 to 30 minutes is needed each day to maintain muscle tone and optimal body conditioning.
Top Exercises for Weight Loss
Always combine regular exercise with a well balanced, reduced calorie diet for maximum results. The best weight loss exercises will combine both an aerobic aspect as well as a toning element to drive your metabolism and burn fat.
Step Aerobics:
The main point behind cardio aerobic conditioning exercises is to raise the heart rate into the training zone which increases metabolism and triggers fat release. Step aerobics is an ideal form of fitness training that targets the hips, legs and belly, prime targets for toning and weight reduction. Step aerobics can burn up to 800 calories per hour and qualifies as an inexpensive and highly effective conditioning method to burn fat.
Bicycling:
Whether you choose to ride around the neighborhood on a traditional bike, or opt for a stationary trainer, biking provides an excellent way to burn between 500 and 1000 calories per hour, depending on intensity and terrain. Biking is easy to do and is one of the best exercises to boost metabolism and promote weight loss.
Exercises to Promote Health
Health promoting exercises typically involve improved blood circulation and enhanced metabolic function. Although these forms of physical activity aren’t as intense as those which target weight loss, they lower disease incidence by improving critical biomarkers such as blood pressure, blood glucose and heart rate.
Walking:
Walking is the perfect exercise for virtually everyone. It requires nothing more than a good pair of shoes and a safe place to stretch your legs, while strengthening the heart and influencing metabolic markers such as improved cholesterol ratios, lowered blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Plan to walk at least 30 minutes a day every day of the week for maximum benefits.
Swimming:
Swimming ranks among the best forms of exercise to improve and maintain health because it conditions every key muscle group in the body. There’s no impact to joints, so there’s little risk of injury which can sideline your efforts. Swimming strengthens the heart and lungs, and has been shown to improve insulin resistance as the muscles become metabolically conditioned for peak efficiency.
Health conscious people understand the importance of regular exercise and need to make the proper choices when determining their ultimate goal. Exercises which are meant to burn fat and lower body weight require more intensity and longer training periods. Training to improve your health demands a shorter session, completed on most days of the week. Regardless of your goal, exercise is the key to sustainable weight loss and optimal health.

admin Jaslok Health Group in India provides Heart Bypass Surgery under experienced and professional surgeons from all over the Globe. Jaslok Health Group provides one of the best surgeons for this surgery, where each of the surgeon and physicians has done their medical education from well known institutions and has worked in overseas hospitals. Jaslok Health Group offer Heart Bypass Surgery in India providing best from the surgeons and physicians so as to recover each and every patient. Heart Bypass Surgery creates a new route, called a bypass, for blood and oxygen to reach your heart. It is done to fix problems caused by coronary artery disease (CAD), in which the arteries that lead to your heart are partly or totally blocked. Bypass surgery is a common term used to describe two very different types of surgery. The first is a heart surgery, formally known as Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery. This surgery is performed to “bypass” blocked arteries that feed the heart, allowing the heart to receive the blood it needs to function. You may also hear this procedure referred to as a CABG, pronounced cabbage.
Heart Bypass surgery is a surgical procedure performed to relieve angina and reduce the risk of death from coronary artery disease. Arteries or veins from elsewhere in the patient’s body are grafted to the coronary arteries to bypass atherosclerotic narrowing and improve the blood supply to the coronary circulation supplying the myocardium (heart muscle). This surgery is usually performed with the heart stopped, necessitating the usage of cardiopulmonary bypass; techniques are available to perform CABG on a beating heart, so-called “off-pump” surgery. The arteries that bring blood to the heart muscle (coronary arteries) can become clogged by plaque (a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances). This can slow or stop blood flow through the heart’s blood vessels, leading to chest pain or a heart attack. Increasing blood flow to the heart muscle can relieve chest pain and reduce the risk of heart attack. There are several newer, less invasive techniques for heart bypass surgery that can be used instead of open-chest surgery in some cases. In some procedures, the heart is slowed with medicine but is still beating during the procedure. For these types of surgery, a heart-lung bypass machine is not needed.
Other techniques in heart bypass surgery use keyhole procedures or minimally invasive procedures instead of open-chest surgery. Keyhole procedures use several smaller openings in the chest and may or may not require a heart-lung machine. Although these techniques are growing in popularity, they have not been well studied and may not be available in all medical centers.
Always tell your doctor or nurse what drugs you are taking, even drugs or herbs you bought without a prescription.
During the days before your heart bypass surgery:
- For the 2-week period before surgery you may be asked to stop taking drugs that make it harder for your blood to clot. These might cause increased bleeding during the surgery. They include aspirin, ibuprofen naproxen, and other similar drugs. If you are taking clopidogrel, talk with your surgeon about when to stop taking it.
- Ask your doctor which drugs you should still take on the day of the surgery.
- If you smoke, try to stop. Ask your doctor for help.
- Always let your doctor know if you have a cold, flu, fever, herpes breakout, or any other illness.
- Prepare your home for when you are discharged from the hospital.
The day before your heart bypass surgery:
- You may be asked to wash your whole body below your neck with a special soap. Scrub your chest 2 or 3 times with this soap.
- You also may be asked to take an antibiotic, to guard against infection.
On the day of the heart bypass surgery:
- You will usually be asked not to drink or eat anything after midnight the night before your surgery. This includes chewing gum and breath mints. Rinse your mouth with water if it feels dry, but be careful not to swallow.
- Take the drugs your doctor told you to take with a small sip of water.
Our doctor or nurse will tell you when to arrive at the hospital.
After heart bypass surgery, there will be a short stay (1 to 2 days if there are no complications) in the intensive care unit (ICU). In the ICU, you will likely have:
- Continuous monitoring of your heart activity.
- A tube to temporarily help with breathing.
- A central line, which is a thin plastic tube inserted into a vein in the neck and threaded down into the heart and pulmonary artery. It is used to monitor pressures and blood flow within the heart.
- A tube to remove stomach secretions until you starts eating again.
- A tube (catheter) to drain the bladder and measure urine output.
- Tubes connected to veins in the arms (intravenous, or IV, lines) through which fluids, nutrition, and medicine can be given.
- An arterial line to measure blood pressure. An arterial line is a short, soft, plastic tube (a catheter) that is placed directly into an artery. The arterial line leads to a monitor, which continuously displays your blood pressure.
- Chest tubes to drain the chest cavity of fluid and blood (which is temporary and normal) after surgery.

Who Is Right: Medical Doctors Or Natural Health Promoters? Part 1
June 1st, 2010
admin Have you noticed that there is often a sharp divide in between the allopathic health community and the naturopathic health community? In other words, the Medical Doctors and the Natural Health Professionals often seem to disagree fundamentally. But which is right?
Perhaps it is not so much of an issue of being right as it is an issue of roles and expertise. Perhaps it is not that Medical Doctors are bad or that natural health solutions are a hoax. Perhaps they should work together!
In the part one of this report, we’ll discuss the medical side of the issue: Pros and cons. Then we’ll do the same for the natural side, then wrap the discussion up.
The downside of the allopathic approach to health
One of the biggest problems with the medical approach to health is side effects. Quite simply, there are no pharmaceutical drugs that do not have undesirable side effects. Some have fewer side effects, some have more. Some side effects are very serious, others are not. But all drugs have side effects.
Another bad aspect to allopathic health is that it generally is designed to artificially and often superficially correct the problem, but not deal with the root issue. For example, when you take cold medicine, it does nothing for your cold – it just suppresses the symptoms so that you don’t notice the cold symptoms as much.
So for me, the biggest problems with using pharmaceuticals is that they are toxic, can be dangerous, and often do not address the root health issue.
On the plus side, the Medical approach excels in crisis situations. For example, if I were in a car accident and were in critical condition, I would not go see a nutritionist. I would go to the hospital, where they could forcefully intervene and hopefully save my life.
Americans Could Be Facing Serious Health Risks From Everyday Foods
March 1st, 2010
admin According to a report by the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice, American people are at serious risk from the daily intake of dioxin. The exposure to this chemical comes in a manner most may not even suspect—it’s in the food we eat.
The risk of getting cancer from exposure to dioxin is 1 in 10,000 for the general American population and 1 in 1,000 for highly exposed members of the population. These risks are 100 and 1,000 times higher, respectively, than the one-in-a-million “acceptable” cancer risk. And we know that the daily dioxin intake of Americans is already too high, exceeding federal risk guidelines.
Dioxin is the common name for the chemical 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD). All American children are born with dioxin in their bodies. The greatest impact appears to be on the growth and development of children. Disrupted sexual development, birth defects and damage to the immune system may result.
It has also been associated with low IQ, withdrawn and depressed behavior, adverse effects on the ability to concentrate and focus attention and an increase in hyperactive behavior in children.
What foods contain dioxin? Mostly meat and dairy products—even ice cream. An independent laboratory found unacceptable levels of dioxin in a sample of the vanilla flavor of one of America’s most popular ice cream brands.
Dairy cows and beef cattle absorb dioxin by eating contaminated crops. Dioxins are in the air and settle on the crops. They can enter the air from thousands of sources, including incinerators that burn medical, municipal and hazardous waste.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) holds the view that any exposure, no matter how small, increases the risk of cancer. The EPA has calculated a “virtually safe dose” (VSD) for dioxin—generally regarded as an acceptably low exposure. The amount of dioxin in the serving of the tested ice cream exceeded that VSD.
Studies conducted by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences show that dioxins are very slow to leave the body and accumulate in our fat tissue. In his book Clear Body Clear Mind, best-selling author L. Ron Hubbard shows exactly how poisons like dioxin accumulate in the fatty tissue of the body and why this causes long-term serious health effects.
The book outlines the only program that can effectively rid the body of substances like dioxin that are stored in the fatty tissue. There are several elements to the program—incremental doses of niacin assist in releasing the toxins and aerobic exercise increases circulation to “mobilize” the chemical residues from the body tissue. Low-heat sauna sweats these residues out. Oil intake helps replace the fatty tissue which is impregnated with toxic substances, and an exact regimen of vitamins and minerals are taken to provide nutritional supplementation.
While no medical claims are made for the program, and the benefits vary person to person, papers documenting the safety and value of the program have been published in the journals of such organizations as the American Public Health Association, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer, the Society for Occupational and Environmental Health and the Royal Swedish Academy of Science.
Clear Body Clear Mind is available in a paperback format in your local bookstores and online. For more information on the book and program, visit www.clearbodyclearmind.com.
While it may not always be easy to avoid dioxin in our food, it is comforting to know that there is a safe and effective way to reduce toxic residues that could cause serious long-term health effects.
